:A multichin version of what

: pretty much what I had in mind though I'm shooting for something in the
: 14-15' range at about 24" beam to accomodate rank beginners and those
: who have physical issues etc. allowing them to keep up with a typical 4-6
: mile paddle club outing which requires a yak that can turn an easy 2-3 mph

Andy,

I've got drawings for both a Sea Tour 13 EXP ( 13' X 24") and 15 EXP ( 15' X
24") similar to the Sea Tour 17 EXP ( Expedition). I went to multi-chines to
accomodate the wider span between chines on a 24" beam design and to provide
greater displacement than the narrower 22" beam Sea Tour 13, 15, 17. In
addition, offsets for multi-chines will permit building them as strippers with
rounded sections.

The Sea Otter you mentioned is narrower still at 20" beam. Attached is a
drawing of the Sea Tour 15 EXP (Expedition). It's shown with a flat aft deck,
but I plan to include offsets in the manual for a raised aft deck for greater
storage....both SOF and strip built. These boats may be worth a look along
with the Auk and others you are considering. As always, no cost :)

Regards,

Tom
