The idea of a strip built deck on a stitch-n-glue hull really peaked my interest as well. It seems to me like it would be a good combination of wood boat builting techniques that would be a little easier then a kayak that is all strip built. I havne't built a strip built kayak, but from looking at the Homegrown Boats video it looked like the deck would be a lot easier.

What I'm thinking of is taking something like a CLC Northbay and putting a stripped deck on it. Since it has a shear clamp it seems like it would be fairly easy to add several removable forms to the sheer clamp for stapling. The question, is however, how to create the temporary forms. Any ideas?
