Good point! I forgot to mention that before sanding I first used a curved scraper (just grind a curved edge onto a straight one) to get rid of glue squeeze out and the major steps. I like the scrapers with a nice, big (about 10 inch) handle that you can buy replacable blades for and grind whatever shape you need on them.

Here is an image of the hull inside right after scraping...
