Or, you could jsut cover the foam with two layers of glass cloth and slather on some epoxy resin. If the cloth extends an inch or two past the skeg there should be enough area bonding to the hull to hold it very securely.
Not as pretty as a piece of wood, but light and fast. and, you can use it to test the durability of fiberglass-covered foam for possible use in future boat building projects.
