: For us unfortunate souls who could not attend R2K1, can anyone talk more
: about the Redfish King?

We all want our boats to track like a rocket and then turn on a dime, right? I might as well add my load of superlatives. This boat put a big smile on my face. It tracked well but performed very tight crisp turns when edged. Puffs of wind coming over the hill did not push it off track. Observing it from the beach, it reminded me of Al Gunther's "Mariner Inspired" boat in the way it handled. The back deck is nicely recessed to facilitate rolling. Overall, it felt very crisp. This is a sports car of a boat.

Of course, Joe's jewel-like workmanship, artistic balance, and innovative outfitting are second to none. His paddle park, while functioning just like my cleat (industrial in comparison), was absolutely stunning. I sure didn't want to be the first person to put a scratch in this treasure, so I kept the bottom side down.

Holly and I just got back from an extra day of paddling after R2K1 near Neah Bay. There will be more on that later, as well as 200 R2K1 photos.
