This forum is a good place to start. I think the first question you need to answer, is do you want to build a stich and glue or a strip kayak? Not to mention others such as canavas on frame. The second, may be, do I want to build from a kit or plans? If these questions mean nothing to you, then I would recommend some reading. Here is where I started: The New Kayak Shop by Chris Kulczycki and The Strip-Built Sea Kayak by Nick Schade. Certainly there are other good books on this subject. You may search any of the internet book stores for other books on this subject.

You may also search this forum using your subject or other terms. Be prepared, for you have typed words that are unlikely to be paralled in the number of responses.
