Form-a-gasket release agent?

Has anyone had experience using Loctite Form-a-gasket to make a seal for flush hatches? I would like to replace my present mediocre weatherstripping seal with something 100 per cent watertight. I saw an example of a Form-a-gasket hatch seal at a recent kayak symposium and it worked really well and looked pretty good too. The builder had some problem cleaning up after making the seal and recommended finding a better release agent than the furniture wax he used. Loctite's email tech service appears to be closed for the next week or two, and I would like to get on with the job before that.
