I did a minor exterior rotator cuff injury at the end of the season 3 years ago while white-water kayaking. I signed up for a for-credit weight lifting class at the community college in town. The instructor told me which exercises to do, which to avoid and gave me some exercises unique to my situation. I don't think you can speed recovery but I think doing the right exercises helped me get a full recovery. Also being in better shape helps prevent injury.

Once the injury was healed, I took more kayaking lessons and really listened when they told me to keep eldows down. I've really tried to learn good technique to avoid another injury.
