Kayaking and shoulder problem

I just recently injured my shoulder - apparently a slight rotator cuff tear. The Kayak I own is a Mill creek 13 from CLC and I built the wooden diamond paddle from Chris K's book. My basic question is what would be the best paddle to get to alleviate the stress on the shoulder (presuming I will be able to kayak again)? I was curious whether the greenland style paddles would be better in this situation. Anyone else have an injury like this able to kayak again?

Thanks for any tips (or hope)

A Greenland paddle is easier on the shoulder...
