: When do i put it on before or after the fiber glass?

Marc, in all practicality if you are glassing your boat with 6oz, you've done just about all the protection that's needed, if you wanted you could wrap the deck glass down an inch and get 12oz. of glass giving you more solid ding resistance than a piece of wood. Most of the dings in the hull will be on the bottom anyway. If you do put a rub rail on go ahead and put it on after glassing.
