I have cheap air powered stapler from the Orient which works very well. Better still it uses the same staples as heavy duty paper staplers do. I've seen similar models at Woodworker's Warehouse. If you don't want to use your employer's supplies these are available at Staples or Office Max 5,000 to a box for a few bucks. They come in 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2" lengths. These staples are not as heavy as T-50's (smaller holes) and no adhesive either.

I like to collect the plastic strapping that is used to band copy paper boxes and use this under staples to protect the wood surface and ease pulling. The boss shouldn't mind you purloining this.
