: For those who are waiting for the grand finale, well ... Project X is stuck
: in UPS hell (yes, Rehd, I should of gone the other way :-). The polyester
: I ordered from G. Dyson had an errant zip code and went from Seattle to
: Portland to Boise and then back to Seattle where its been hanging around
: for 4 days now. They do say it's rescheduled for delivery, so I'll keep
: waiting (Yes, I have called :-)

: In the mean time, I managed to apply 5 strand kevlar roving to the hull using
: Heat-N-Bond tape. The tape works really well (and is cheap). Might be a
: good replacement for staples on all those Wallys. The kevlar ends up in a
: 1/4" band when flattened. Probably over kill. The 2 strand may have
: been sufficient. Oh well, there's always those strip builts that need
: finishing :O.

Hey Bill

Got some sad news for you.... If you'd have sent it through the mail, I'd probably have it here in Fresno, Calif., but I'd reeeeaaaallllyyyy appreciate it. You know that!! ;) The ONLY wedding invitation I've ever gotten was misdelivered to a house two streets over and they didn't give it to me until the exact day after the deadline for return. So..... No, I don't have any problem with someone using another service for mailing. I'm just sorry that that sort of thing has to happen at all. My second order of canvas ( deck ) went through UPS and they got MY zip wrong also and it went back to them as well. I got notices that I didn't exist at my address, but I did get a couple of bucks off of the shipping.

Checked you pics. and they look great!! Good to see you back on the "X" and about ready to splash it! Soon I hope. I will be very interested in getting a VERY close look at this one in P.T.. Hope you are bringing it!

Been reading Robert Morris' book lately and enjoying it greatly. Also read the article in Sea Kayaker about the kids yak and would like to talk mixing up some of the ideas with your boat.

As you look back on this project, how would you rate it and would you, or do you, entertain thoughts of doing a similar project again? Maybe some Y's or Y nots? Will be interested in chatting with you in Aug.

Again, great looking boat and hope to spend some time chatting about it when I see you up there. Now, back to work on my " Projects."

Rehd

P.S. ( so, how ARE the strippers coming along? )
