: Anybody have a good way to cut large slices of minicell - for example when
: cutting a wedge out of the bottom of a seat meant for a hardchine boat
: like the Chessapeake.

: I always just go the brute force approach using a 10" knife and then
: lots of work with cleaning it up using technique of choice (for me its a
: 16 grit resin backed sanding disk).

: What I want is a 16 inch serated knife or something like that to make this
: task easier so I can pass the blade cleanly thru the side of the block and
: the center of the block where the cut ends with some extra blade length
: for travel.

Pete,
I posted the 16 grit resin disc idea a couple years ago. It sure removes material quickly. For the long cuts I use a bread knife but mine is only about 10 or 12" A longer one would be better. I have also used a crosscut saw. The very best way to cut Minicel I have found is a band saw but that is only good for thinner cuts.
