I used "all purpose" hot glue and no tape at all on my forms. The all purpose is nicer cause you don't have to hold the strips as long.

: I was all set to attach my first strip tonight but have found that the hot
: glue won't stick to the masking tape that I have on the forms. I had
: thought that this would be the best tape to use as it has a bit of a rough
: surface. Any thoughts on the subject? I was also curious about the need
: for the slow setting glue for strength over the all purpose fast set type.
: As you probably figured out I'm hoping to build this boat stapleless.
