Mahogany? Man, the envy! I'd guess you could do the boat, but make the strips 1/8" thick if the saw will do it. Mahogany is much denser and stronger than cedar, so this should work OK in building and keep some of the avoirdupois at bay. One question,however: Why not knock out a guitar or two while you're at it? Mahogany is one of the great tonewoods for backs and sides.
