In the end if I can't fix it or live with it, I will put on
: a coat of black epoxy and hide everything. Any thoughts will be
: appreciated.

You can sand all the glass off back to bare wood in a couple hours and start over. I assume you used 1/4" strips so you should have plenty of wood to work with. I've sanded the glass totally off decks when I couldn't live with the mistake.

HOWEVER, I'd suggest you leave it, paddle it this year and if it still drives you nuts at the end of the year, you can sand all the glass offf the hull next winter and redo it!

That's the beauty of strip building. You can always go back later and fix something if you have the balls to do it.

All the best,
