makes real good sense(on the good side anyway), and i think a lot of pple are doing it this way.

as you say staining reduced as the wetting is carried out at one time in the same manner, with the same aged and thickened etc epoxy. then the joining is mainly a matter of extra glass and thickness not necessarily manner and character.

the other help is becaus the veneer is so thin, if you accidentally stain the surface w/ the beer or coffee cup or oily hands or tools, you're screwed. but if sealed, just wipe off. especially if you take a while building and it has to get stored for a bit.

i guess the downside is mechanical bonding of subsequent glass, but probably worth it.

probably some kind of trade off with doing both sides(flexibility for tortured clc decks??)
