I have not paddled any other S&G kayaks. My only comparison is a Walden Vista, which is a whole other animal. The Marganser is much faster with a much smaller cockpit. I don't have big feet (7), but it gets pretty tight for me. I may remove my footbraces and replace them with a foam block to gain some space.Sorry I can't be of more help. There are more discussions on this matter on the board though...
