I don't know about jumpin' up and down, but I often stand there at least partially and I am rigging for a small mast too, so I am looking for a way to distrubute these stresses over a larger area. This method seems a strong and relativly light weight way to do it. I am hoping that builders will give their opinions about whether putting the doorskin above OR below the glass would be the stronger. I see the advantage of having the glass run continuously on the strips and tieing them together in one unit with the glass. But I think the doorskin and epoxy make a better bond to the strips ( and this bond would easily substitute for the continous glass effect). Naturally if I put the doorskin under the glass I would "feather" the edge before laying the glass:-) I appreciate to hear what you other builders think !

Forget it. Don't bother with the doorskin.
