: Hi,

: Does anyone know of a reason not to run the deck strips to completly cover
: the cockpit (just like the hatches) and after glassing both sides, only
: then cutting out the cockpit ? I want to strip the deck this way and need
: to know if I am heading for unforseen trouble.

: Thanks for any input,

: Arthur

I don't know about other's designs but my kayaks are NOT designed to have the cockpit stripped over. The lines of the the deck on either side of the cockpit would be drasticly changed. This would be a serious mistake. I suggest you follow what ever directions you are working from.

All the best,
