Sort of picking up on the recent varnishing thread, but the principal's the same. I've done both epoxy precoats and varnish with the WEST (Gougeon Bros.) foam rollers. With their 205 and 207 resin/hardeners the bubbles have disappeared by themselves. I generally work in a heated area or warm the resin before mixing. With the varnish I tip the finish with a foam or bristle brush after rolling. Your effectively doing the same thing by stopping the roller's motion. My only conern with this technique is that the leveling that the roller gives you may be offset by using it as a brush. I think Ron's method overcomes this shortcoming. Get your finish on and level first, which what the roller is good for, then get the bubbles out with a LIGHT brushing. If the jammed roller does this for you great, one less expense.
