A camp stove works nice under that kettle, too, particularly if you are working at some distance from an electrical source. You can find one-, two- and three-burner models that use bottled gases or liquid fuels. Many of us camp and already have such stoves, so no additional cost is involved.

Because of the open flame with a camp stove you want to keep them at a distance from flammable solvents and high levels of sawdust -- and of course you won't lay some of those nice strips so close that they catch on fire.
