I agree with the first two responses. I sand with 80 grit then wipe down with acetone or laquer thinner a couple of times let dry then coat with epoxy. I like putting on 2 to 3 coats of epoxy on the teak before I varnish. The varnish adheres better to the epoxy than to the teak it also protects the epoxy from the UV’s.
