: I built the footbrace in Nick's book. Used luan for the panels and popular
: from home depot for the rail and channel. I glassed the sides of the rail
: and luan. It should last a while. Worked great for adjusting for Josh and
: I. Made it loose the first trip then pulled it tighter a notch the next
: time out, had my knees pasted to the top of the deck!

: Do not try and cut the minicell foam on the table saw, it will grab it and
: try and eat it. Also be careful with the side grinder, it will eat it if
: you give it a slip.

I've been trying to decide whether to build or buy, I like the design in the book and it seems like it would be easy to build but the one thing I keep thinking about is loosing the storage space in the center, when kayak camping I have shoved a drybag in the center between my feet and this would prevent me from doing that. The standard footbrace may be better for me since I plan on doing overnight trips.

Thanks for the tip on the minicell cutting, I am going to carve the seat next week.
