Hey Mark,

Indoor furniture is one thing, I love Minwax Poly for that stuff, but having owned wooden boats for a lot of years, I've learned that UV protection is the key. You've got to read the labels. Just because they say "spar" varnish doesn't mean much. Read the UV protection specs. - I don't think Behr even refers to it on the can, even though that's what "spar varnish" is all about. My kayak will not be laying around in the sun unless I'm in it, but for the difference in price between "Home Depot" varnish at $9.00/qt. or so and Z-Spar for $19.00/qt. or so??? small investment for a whole kayak. And it's truly amazing to work with. All my future Furniture projects will be finished with this stuff.
