Oh yeh, Ken, an addes thought. Don't waste the opportunity to run a bunch of Quarter-sawn wood. Cut it all that way and tuck a bunch of it away. Just go get some more regular stuff and use for the majority of the boat. That quarter-sawn will always come in handy on future boats. :)
