Sounds like a line from an old movie.

This sailor tell his shipmates of his plans for retiring FAR from the sea:

"I'm gonna take an oar, put it over my shoulder and start walking inland", he says.

"When I get to a place where someone asks me 'What's that thing you're carrying on my shoulder', I'll buy the nearest house and settle down for the rest of my days."
