So here's just a deviation or refinement of the previous fitting but probably only for lake yaks. I'm just not sure you can get brass tubing that won't oxidize over time. Well maybe just keep them polished. . .

The idea is the same laminations as before but then using say forstner bits to drill nice holes to thread some tubing thru. File flush on top and back witha thick glass backing(easier than wood flange in this case). Pull thru and mount as before.

Would give some interesting subtle hilites to the deck. A bit of work, but who's paying anyway?

(aside - I was quite surprised to go back a few sketchbks to get these images and in doing so realized that including the cart posts, I've made over 700 pages of dwgs since(mostly done on the bus to and from wk). Lots of repetition, crap,scribbles and dead ends but all about trying things slightly differently. A bunch of fun for me. No wonder building is so slow. )
