In Response To: Strip thickness (Tom Kurth)

I used 1/4 thichness and had no problems with it on the 2 inch wide strips but did use the 6 oz cloth to regain some thickness and strength in the hull. On the first one, this worked fine. One the secound one, I used 1 1/8 wide strips and was able to build using no cheaters. and I built from the sheer up to the bottom board. This made building it alot faster, no sheer to shape with the handplane and eye, and no cheaters, alot of time is spent fitting them with bead and cove. the 1 1/8 strips were also 1/4 and no problem with 4 oz cloth, but used doubler over the bottom board up a obout 6 inches.
