In Response To: Any plans for a sit-on-top kayak? (TF)

Like any other sport, a quiver of kayaks would be nice to be ready for all occaisions. A few years ago while snorkeling in the Yucatan using our regular fiberglass closed kayaks as a platform we met a couple of guys who had taken old sail boards and made a mold for seat and foot braces like regular sit-on-tops and glassed the two pieces together. I was intrigued because their boats made a wonderful dive platform at a very low price. Worked pretty good as surf kayaks as well. Now I see there is a comercial rotomolded product on the market for about $600. Just an option for the wood clutzes.

: At the risk of offending the traditionalists, does anyone have plans or kits
: for strip built sit-on-top kayaks?

: I like to fish and I am looking for a fishing machine I can build. Any
: suggestions for a stable fishing platform are welcome too, kayak of
: course.

: Thanks all.
