one advantage of polyester resin (PR) over epoxy is its hardness.
pr is much harder than epoxy, it will not get scratches so quickly
like epoxy does.

pr do need uv protection but it is usually mixed with it.

pr bonds to wood srong enough.

I'm sure many builders here will recommend the use of pr for kayak
building for differnt purposes.

many people here are using pr successfuly.
(not me, I just didn't have the chance.

build less, paddle more
