I'd check out the eric schade's mereganser as well. it is purdy and seems to fit your wants. I don't know how hard it is to build in comparison to others. check out the cool shop pic post below to see one in construction.

: Chesapeake Light Craft but am undecided between the Chesapeake and the
: North Bay. The looks of the North Bay is fantastic, CLC however rates this
: a little more difficult to build than the Chesapeake. Any advise re which
