hello Chris,

to secure my Coho to a chevy Cavalier I used that vinyl coated steel
cable with a loop on each end. I got the one Kryptonite make, I think
it's the 5' or 6' .
I ran this cable behind the cockpit side supports. it's the part
that hip braces are supposed to be attached to.
from there the cable goes down into the passengers cabin thru
the cracked driver's window & then out of the cabin thru the cracked
window behind the driver's window & back up into the cockpit where
it meets its significant other (self) behind that same coaming support.

Hmm....actually I mount it in a way that both ends meet in the passengers
cabin & are locked together with any lock.

to my surprise there is no problem mounting the cockpit cover over that
cable.

as mentioned - it only keeps honest people from stealing the kayak,

& as mentioned, it's better than noting.
