Hey, your boat looks good. I know how you feel. I got the flu from my family at Christmas and am just getting over it.

Throw out the old glue and keep the new one from freezing. Don't use this kind of glue if it more than 6 months old (who knows how long it was since it was manufactured).

I use Titebond II not because it's waterproof but because it has the highest temperature rating of all the polyvinyl acetate, or PVA glues.

This means it will take more heat built up from the summer sun on your boat before the glue will soften and the glue line will creep. I've had a few problems in the past with glass stress marks on some deck areas due to overheating. I don't use PVA glues on my decks.

I use polyurethane glue for my deck strips. It is not reactivated by heat.

I go to boat shows in the summer where my boats are baking in the sun. The epoxy will soften up too. I found out how much when I tried to epoxy on some wooden bars to recessed deck fittings. With the pressure from shock cord pulling on the deck fittings I had the bars pop off the deck as the epoxy softened. This was a little embarrasing at a show.

All the best,
Rob
