I purchased a carbide scraper early on for my first kayak. I wasn't ever able to use it very successfully on wood but wouldn't be without it for epoxy/glass work. I always use it to take down seams, drips and rough places in the cured epoxy. Better and faster than sanding, especially on semicured epoxy to smooth before you recoat.
