I am currently trying Rob's method. It sounded like it had possiblities, so I'm giving it a try. I agree it wouldn't work with an internal strongback. I am using the hot melt glue system on the hull along with cove-and-bead strips. With the C&B it is a little tricky to get the glue in place and then get the strip settled into the cove, but it seems to be going all right.

I stripped from the sheer to the chine on a Night Heron yesterday without problem. I'm not it would work as well on a design like my Expedition Single which requires the strips get pulled in to concave sections. This is hard enough to hold with staples. But for what I have done so far, the system has worked fine.

I am not a total convert, but if you really want to avoid staples it is a good system.
