I checked around quite abit and settled on the Olympus D-360L, 1.3 Megapixel. It was rated at the top with some very expensive camera's costing 2 to 3 times as much. It doesn't have an optical telephoto but does have a 2x digital. I have seen them at Target for $299 plus your sales charge but I looked around the net and found mine for $250 including shipping and no sales charge. I am really happy with it. The picture quality is exellcent
