I would really like to style my deck after Ross Leidy's Guillemont that he posted a picture of with his Dalmation dog, but I don't want to be a complete copy cat. I have some walnut and pine, and some super deep red cedar for this that I sorted from piles of cedar at a lumber yard. I used the free kayak design software "BearBack" and took some of the dimentions of Nick Shade's Little AUK, thanks Nick, to make my design. So, what the boat will look like and how it will perform is a mystery to me. The haul starts off from the bow and first cross section is like a normal kayak then at the second section becomes a concave V, then to a flat V, and then flows into a rounded haul. Since this is a 12 ft long, wide beamed boat 28", kayak, it would seem like the haul design would make it track better then normal for a boat of this shape but that is only a hope on my part. Thanks to all, for the help I've had in getting this far. Two months ago I didn't know what a strip built kayak was.
