Dust Collection and air filtration

I used my Dust Collection unit from below and then used an air filtration unit I made from an old forced hot air furnace blower and 6 air filters of decreasing size. On top of that I used a good respirator (not a "feel good" paper mask). I could definately tell the difference. If all you have is the shop vac, its better than nothing, but really consider buying a good respirator with replacable filters for around $30 to protect your lungs; the finished basement can be cleaned, but your lungs have to last you many more years. You could also get some cheap plastic to seal off the finished part of the basement a little better.
