: I was leaning towards buying the Porter Cable Quicksand ROS sander at a sale
: price of $59 with a 2.4 amp motor. But yesterday I was in Wal-Mart and saw
: the Black & Decker ROS sanders at $30 with a 2 amp motor. Both have
: speeds of 12,000. I checked the price of the B&D online and found it
: ranged from $41 to $53 plus shipping. The only disavantage I see would be
: the B&D would heat up faster because of the smaller motor. Any reason I
: shouldn't buy the B&D.

Hi John

You pretty much summed it up there. The B & D is just not as good a piece of equipment. You will be able to use it, and it will work, but, probably won't last as long. B & D tools usually aren't as heavy duty as P.C. but, it will work O.K. Just a matter of preference. How many boats you plan on building? I don't usually buy the best( most expensive ) and seldom ever buy the cheapest. If the P.C. is a pretty good price, I would go with that. That is; if you plan on building more that a couple of boats. Hope that helps.
