First timer here, so keep that in mind. I used 4 strips of cherry cut about 1/8" or 3/16" thick. Planed the bow and stern to about 3/4" wide on the flat. Went to the shear plan to cut off and put a nose on. The keel end is planed and blended in to the keel on a natural curve. I used 2" clear packing tape to clamp, that is wrapped it all the way while stretching the tape till it sings.
