Dacron is a trade name for a polyester cloth, so you are mostly comparing weights.

Where did you get your 9oz fabric? The 2.7 oz is available from aircraft sources, and George Dyson has, I believe, 11 or 15 oz cloth. I would like to step up from the strength of the 2.7 oz, but I tink the heavier weights would overpower the adhesive, if not the frame, of a Monfort type hull.
