Thanks, I'll try to get some pics if I do the Christmas lights. I'm horrible at getting film developed though.

I like his building style quite a bit. The dacron (I think 3 oz) is lighter and more transparent than the polyester (9 oz). The polyester is going to be stronger. I have seen where someone coated one of Platt's canoes with fiberglass (1 oz) over the dacron, and it weighed in at a whopping 19 pounds. I would think you could use some 3.25 oz satin glass over the dacron. This would greatly increase the abrasion resistance. The only weakness that I see with the polyester is that it cuts easily with very sharp objects. The dacron would have the same problem, but coating it with light glass may solve that.
