I plan on using this footbrace (sometime in the future!) on my Great Auk, but wonder about those little hooks. Anyone have any problems snagging your feet?-ouch! I was wondering if those hooks could not be put on the bottom. You would have to add a rail on the bottom with a spacer to allow for the gap for the rope. I think it would weaken it, as far as a bond to the hull.

Another idea I had was to scrap the rail and attach to the inside of the hull with webbing through a padeye (assuming there would be enough surface area for a good bond??)A bungie attached to the deck near the bulkhead might keep it at the required height.
Any ideas/comments? Or,does it work just right the way it is?
