Just an idea

Has anyone ever considered using bicycle pedals or modified (possibly smaller) pedals for a footrest?

Think about it, you can move legs around or have different body types use the boat and your foot angle would be a custom fit just for you. I would think you would have a good positive grip on the footrests at different angles you could possible stretch (a little) and still feel locked into the boat. The angle should always be right for the person using the boat. The big thing is to make sure they are corrosion resistant for saltwater.
