:I used oriented strand particle board. It cut fair with a jig saw; better with a bandsaw. I used the wrong spray contact cement and had a terrible time getting the cutout plans to stick.
The wood did a fair job holding staples, but a very good job holding sheetrock screws which I used to attach temporary clamps instead of staples. When I popped the boat off the frame, the stations were chewed up from all the screws.
I would be tempted to use plywood for the stations on my next boat.
