Skinning and sealing

I skinned the deck of the modified Walrus yesterday. It was interesting getting it to conform to my deck. The polyester is more work than canvas, and wrikles easier. It is much stronger per ounce though. It looked great in the dark basement with lights inside the yak.

I started putting the Varathane on it last night, and so far have 2 coats on the hull and one on the deck. It took 1 quart to get this much done, I expect to use 3 quarts to finish the kayak.

Switching from Snow-Roof over 15 oz. canvas to Varathane over 9 oz. Polyester, should save me a couple of pounds.
