In Response To: How do you remove old varnish to recoat? (john rominski)

The good news is that the varnish can be removed.

The bad news is that the only way to remove it with out affecting the epoxy under neither is to sand the entire boat. A friend did this 2 years ago and it only took him only one day with a DA sander (air powered RO sander).

Good luck

Jason

: I used Epiphanes no-sand, and it takes a dimple from a thunbnail, also takes
: scratches and dings, I want it gone.

: I want to redo the boat with a 2-part varnish from c-spar.

: Hopefully someone has a better idea than sanding. Please share it if true.
