Mike-

Really enjoyed reading the review and trip report- thanks! I paddled someone's Tern 14 at the Great Lakes Sea Kayak Symposium and really liked it also, although I don't have nearly the experience that you do.

Re: water in the Pygmy hatches (this may be old news to some of you). I was also getting up to 2 cups of water, especially when I practiced wet exits/solo rescues. The bulkheads did not appear to be leaking and my hatches were tight enough that I felt suction when I pulled them off (they were actually so tight that I bent the plastic fittings). When we talked to Pygmy, they suggested that I might have some pinholes where the epoxy didn't saturate for whatever reason and suggested that we fill the bulkhead with water. Sure enough, there were 2 minute holes that were allowing the water in. I patched those and the hatches have been dry ever since.
