All that glitters---Ain't gold!!!

In my great haste to get this thing to the water before it goes solid again, I did the unthinkable. I sanded my sheer seam tape before I had enough fill coats. I started to just feather the edges but got carried away and sanded into the weave. When adding another fill coat, I see the telltale sign of the mistake made by many first time builders, the glitter of the glass weave showing thru. I do know better!!, but just got carried away. Having seen the "LIGHT"; willing to mend my ways. I wonder if there is a fix, short of grinding it all off. Has anyone ever tried adding another layer of glass to hide the glitter? I have some 1.5 oz. glass I could cut into bias strips and cover the seam but dont know if it will hide the glitter. Any suggestions? BTW/ the sheer seam tape is really 6oz bias cut strips of glass, not 9oz tape.

Thanks,

Larry C.
